PROGRAMS
ACE TENNIS
The goal of ACE Tennis (Amazing Children Empowered through Tennis) is to help children with their independence, confidence, focus, coordination, communication, and sportsmanship. It is important that children have FUN while learning/playing the game of tennis in a safe and encouraging environment.
ACTS JR.
ACTS Jr. (Acting Creates Therapeutic Success) is a unique, creative program designed to integrate children with and without disabilities together through the use of performing arts. Led by occupational therapists, occupational therapy students, and youth volunteers from the community, this program is unique to Arkansas. ACTS Jr. has touched the lives of numerous children and families in Central Arkansas since 2005.
ART
The Art Program is a series of classes once a week that allows children to explore their creativity with a variety of mediums in a positive, encouraging environment, while simultaneously allowing them to explore their senses in new and exciting ways.
BASKETBALL
The goal for the Basketball Program is to help children with their independence, confidence, focus, coordination, communication, and sportsmanship. It is important that children have FUN while learning/playing the game of basketball in a safe and encouraging environment.
BOWLING
Bowling can be described as a sport or a leisure activity where the player rolls a ball towards a target set of pins. The main goal is to knock down all of the pins, but our goal is to just have fun! We would like players to strengthen social interaction skills as well as self confidence. Our volunteers and program directors are excited to “get the ball rolling!”
CAMP CONNECT
Camp Connect is a summer day camp designed for children with social skills difficulties caused by high-functioning autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit disorders, sensory processing disorders, and related differences. Camp activities are geared towards personal growth and learning to work as a team, while also focusing on problem-solving, real-world dynamic thinking, and adaptive skills.
CERAMICS
Our Ceramics Program meets weekly & ends with an art show where your artist can display his/her masterpiece! Our goal is to enforce creative art and give the kiddos an opportunity to see their work on display. This will help build social skills & self-confidence as they talk about their work with family and friends.
CHEERLEADING
The Cheerleading Program gives kids the opportunity to cheer on a squad with their peers & highlight their individual abilities & skills while building lasting relationships. At the end of the program, the participants will have an opportunity to showcase all they’ve learned.
FISHING
The Community Connections fishing program gives kids an opportunity to get outside & make some lasting memories. Kids of all ages are invited to socialize, form friendships, learn about fishing/techniques and share experiences with others who have had similar challenges and life experiences. Fishing gear will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own as well.
GOLF
The purpose of the Golf Program is to teach our kids the game of golf in a positive, encouraging environment. The golfers spend time learning the rules and etiquette of golf, then take their skills onto the course to put the learning into action. You can bring clubs, but there will be equipment available for the kids to use.
KIDS’ TRIATHLON
Community Connections offers an adaptive division in the Conway & Arkadelphia Kids’ Triathlon. We offer training dates to help prepare each participant for success. These training programs are optional and not required for the triathlon, but highly encouraged! The Community Connections Division participants will have a buddy assigned to them to complete the course alongside them.
MARTIAL ARTS
The Community Connections Martial Arts Program focuses on fostering discipline, integrity, ability to follow directions and building confidence all with encouraging instructors praising kids for every effort and attempt. Our skilled instructors are looking forward to meeting your future black belt!
PET CLUB
The Community Connections Pet Club is for animal-loving kids of ALL ages! Join us as we share pet facts & tips, participate in hands-on activities, and enjoy quality time with a variety of animals while learning how to properly take care of our furry (and not so furry) friends!
RUFL FOOTBALL
The Rivals United Flag Football League was started by a group of committed football fans who wanted to ensure all children, including kids with disabilities, would have the opportunity to play the game. Players participating in RUFL get a chance to play in every position to ensure each child is successful & experiences being part of a team.
SPORTS CLINICS
Sports Clinics are designed to be an intensive therapeutic experience for the kids, while using sports as a means to work on endurance, strength, coordination, balance, etc. Some of the sports we will play/learn may include soccer, volleyball, baseball, basketball, flag football, etc.
SWIM
The Swim Program is a series of classes focused on water safety and developing skills for children in order for them to have fun in the water, while building their confidence as a swimmer. Each participant will be partnered with a volunteer buddy to facilitate the lesson. Space is limited to ensure each child’s safety.
TEEN GAME GROUP
Community Connections is excited to continue the TEEN GAME GROUP! This group will provide individuals with the opportunity to socialize and share experiences with others who have had similar challenges and life experiences. The teens will engage in different kinds of activities such as games, crafts, team building exercises, arcade play, & more!
TOP SOCCER
TOP Soccer provides children the opportunity to participate in an organized soccer program in a safe and positive environment. The program is designed to give everyone a chance to play and to foster the values of teamwork, pride, and accomplishment within each player. Players are separated by age and ability to create an equal environment for everyone.
YOUNG ADULT SOCIAL GROUP
Community Connections started the Young Adult Social Group (YASG) to provide older individuals with an opportunity to form friendships & share experiences with others who have had similar challenges in life. The YASG will engage in a variety of activities/outings such as bowling, eating out, trips to the zoo & more!
